Contract: 12 month FTC


About the vacancy:

Site Supervisors are responsible for providing a safe and secure environment across our 55+ independent living schemes. They are responsible for the daily running of the facilities including health and safety checks, cleanliness and minor repairs. The role is diverse, with a variety of tasks and responsibilities and at times can be challenging.

The role will be based at one of our 55+ independent living schemes and for the majority of the time you will lone work.

However, you will be required to work with the other Site Supervisors, different NCH teams, as well as external contractors to facilitate planned maintenance works for communal areas and liaise with individual customers where necessary.

Specifically, the role will:


  • Work with a range of external agencies on 55+ scheme specific issues and projects whilst ensuring all services provided by external agencies are delivered in accordance with NCH policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the overall safety and security of 55+ schemes including the operation of fire alarms, community alarms, security lighting, CCTV, communal entrances and access points.
  • Ensure the safe use and storage of equipment, chemicals and materials on site, including maintaining an inventory to ensure that appropriate levels of stock are maintained.
  • Carry out appropriate lowlevel repairs in/around the communal areas and work within customer properties where customers are unable to carry out the works themselves.
  • Respond appropriately to any emergency situations that arise whilst on site and report any safeguarding concerns in line with procedures.
  • Identify customers with additional support needs and where appropriate liaise with the Housing Support Advisors team to access additional support or signpost to other appropriate services including Social Services and other Health & Wellbeing agencies.
  • Identify, collect/arrange collection for all monies to be banked at the 55+ scheme.
  • Monitoring quality of work undertaken on site e.g. cleaning, grounds maintenance, caretakers, capitol works projects etc. reporting/escalating any concerns over performance to the Older Persons Team Leader
  • To contribute to combating antisocial behaviour by recording and reporting any incidents to housing management staff, relevant agencies and the Police.
