What will you be doing?

  • Negotiating and executing master trading agreements as well as ancillary documentation, including but not limited to, ISDAs, CSAs, Guarantees, CDEAs and NDAs
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and documentation risk controls and adhering to associated guidelines and procedures
  • Conducting independent legal analysis and managing relationships with external counsel where necessary, and within Barclays requirements on external legal spend
  • Performing 4eye quality checks on negotiations conducted by other negotiators prior to execution
  • Identifying processes that can be improved around data capture, technology, and documentation guidelines
  • Working independently with mínimal supervision and demonstrating the ability to supervise where appropriate
  • Comprehending each of the master trading agreements, including their importance from a credit market, operational risk, and liquidity perspective
  • Helping to deliver team and departmental projects and objectives

What we're looking for:


  • Law degree or qualified lawyer admitted in England & Wales or other jurisdiction
  • Experience, knowledge and understanding of the ISDA, the financial industry, and Legal roles
  • Experience in derivatives master agreements / negotiating
  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Familiarity with regulatory project implementation
  • Other languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish or Italian)

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as: a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
