The new Assistant Head will:

- have, ideally, a proven record of successful senior leadership experience
- will have held substantial posts of responsibility in a variety of schools

The role of the Assistant Head is, primarily, to support the Deputy Heads in their management of the School.


This is a senior post within the School and the Assistant Head will be expected to take a leading part in the administration and management of a wide range of events, policy formation and future planning.

S/he must be highly organised, have a good rapport with colleagues and students, have well developed communication skills and be very well informed about emerging trends within education.

S/he is a member of the SMT.


The Assistant Head will:

  • Greet pupils every morning outside Livesey and supervise the departure of pupils from Livesey at the end of each school day, checking the correct pupils are on the minibuses
  • Check the locker rooms every day
  • Organise and run the staff duty rota
  • Organise and run the assembly rota
  • Organise and run the tutor daily notices
  • Take part in the SMT duty rota, undertaking 8 duties per week
  • Oversee detention tracking, Friday and Saturday detentions
  • Take the lead role with implementing the behaviour policy across the senior school
  • Ensure details of all incidents are recorded in the appropriate location.
  • Organise whole school event logistics open mornings, prizegiving, sports day, church services and other formal functions.
  • Assist the Head with regard to the general running and supervision of whole school events open mornings, prizegiving, church services, sports day and other formal functions
  • Assist with the arrangements for the beginnings and ends of term, including seating of pupils for Assembly and the organisation of occasional alterations to the School day or week.
  • Oversee transition arrangements from year 6 to year
  • Oversee transition arrangements for any new senior pupil, acting as liaison between the School and the family
  • Be available to host tours of prospective families
  • A small amount of teaching to include PSHE and study periods.
  • Be available for cover, as required
  • Act as minute taker for meetings, as required
  • Perform such duties as are required by the Head relating to the general management of the School.

Pay:
£37,000.00-£55,270.00 per year
