Imperial College London is a world Top 10 university with an international reputation for excellence in teaching and research and we are looking for a talented individual to join our ID Office Team to deliver exceptional customer services across our campuses.


The post-holder will ensure the provision of effective, efficient, and professional supervision of the Lenel Access Control System and ID card production.

Off-line access readers are required to be reported to the Facilities Management Help Desk to resolve so that it ensures that they are back working and fully operational.


You will also be expected to deliver operationally excellent processes to ensure consistency across all Campuses and provide a high level of customer service and support to all service users.


Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are essential, to enable the post-holder to build strong relationships and interact with all relevant departments and contractors in relation to ID Cards.


The ideal person will have worked in a similar role within a multi-site organisation and possess excellent people management skills.

Please note that the post is predominantly Monday to Friday, however there is a requirement to work some weekends and occasional additional hours to cover key points of the year, such as arrivals, departures, and festival weekends.

Essential requirements:


  • Educated to A level or equivalent qualifications or experience in a similar role
  • A proven track record of working within a customer service environment that delivers an exceptional, firstclass service
  • Previous experience of managing a team, with proven ability to train, develop, motivate, and lead team members
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present and deliver information in an appropriate manner
  • Excellent computer literacy, with a rudimentary knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience of presenting statistical information in a variety of electronic formats as well as in person
  • Able to use own initiative, prioritise activities and have a "cando" attitude
  • Tact and diplomacy to deal with people, including senior staff, students, and visitors, in all circumstances, including emergencies and other times of stress
  • Ability to multitask with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proactive attitude, with a 'Can do' outlook
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, to deliver an efficient and effective service
  • Able to manage difficult situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The nature of the role is such that the post holder has, and will maintain, an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping
  • Able to work without close supervision and independently but at the same time be a strong team player putting the needs of the service ahead of own personal interest
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working, including changing needs of the business and locations across all College Campuses
