The Company


Makefast is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and suppliers of a wide range of quality products for luxury marine craft and safety products and hardware.

Based across 3 sites in Mid-Wales, Makefast is a medium sized business employing over 90 permanent members of staff.


The company prides itself in the ability to design and manufacture engineering innovative and contemporary products and the use of quality materials.


The Role

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Organising shipping/despatch documents for international exports.
  • Processing imports with suppliers and customs clearance agents.
  • Booking of shipments with preferred freight forwarder.
  • Updating our system with correct information commodity codes, incoterms etc.
  • Arranging collections and deliveries with couriers.
  • Inform customers regarding their shipments i.e. shipping info or tracking information.
  • Working with sales and purchasing on customer and supplier agreements.
  • Raise claims for late/damaged shipments.
  • Help IT implement logistics solutions into our operating software.
  • Invoice sign off's and raising purchase orders for specialist shipments.
  • Liaising with account managers in our preferred logistics suppliers.

  • Logistics experience/background preferred


This role requires attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and work on own initiative with minimum supervision.

Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and encourage a "quality first" mentality.
