Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to join our team as a
Plant Fitter. Reporting to the Plant & Maintenance Manager, the
Plant Fitter will be an integral part of the operations team in the maintenance and preservation of key plant and equipment
This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to operate power tools, perform heavy lifting, and utilize mechanical knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct planned and preventative maintenance for plant and equipment and report key findings to the Maintenance Manager
- Respond to breakdowns of plant and equipment across NWP sites
- Communicate with appointed contractors to ensure planned maintenance is successfully completed
- Fabrication and repair of plant and equipment components
Person Specification:

Essential Selection Criteria_
Knowledge / experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience maintaining heavy plant and equipment (recycling equipment experience preferred, but not essential).
- Experience in fabrication, welding stick and MIG.
- The individual must be competent at fault finding.
- PC literate
Skills / ability
- Reliable and punctual
- Team Player with ability to maintain effective working relationships across all levels.
- Ability to work on their own initiative.
- Flexibility in relation to working hours to meet business needs.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical downtime issues and resolve to root cause.
- Ability to work safely and adhering to site rules and procedures
- Full driving license
Desirable Selection Criteria_
- Recognised trade qualification in plant maintenance and 5 years relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience working in the waste industry
- Previous experience working with material processing equipment e.g. screener, shredders
- Valid loading shovel licence

Pay:
£17.00-£22.00 per hour
