Senior Property Surveyor (Engineering)
£35,000 - £42,000 basic dependent on experience
Company car or 10% car allowance
Staffordshire area
To work as a Building Services Engineering Surveyor within the Building Surveying Team of Property Services.

The role involves implementing and managing planned, breakdown repairs and improvement/renewal schemes within the portfolio of corporate and educationalsites such as nursery, primary, special, and high schools includes some swimming pools.


What you'll be doing:


  • Ensure an effective liaison with Head teachers and property site managers to provide a comprehensive engineering maintenance service which will include dealing with mechanical and electrical services thus retaining the consultancy's customer base.
  • To provide routine advice and support to schools and other properties on day to day and planned maintenance repairs.
  • To undertake engineering planned maintenance programmes including the design and specification of engineering projects using standard documents where applicable, the raising and issuing of orders, the supervision of work on site and the verification ofinvoices for payment.
  • To undertake project management/supervising officer duties while liaising with the establishment representative which involves the initiation and completion of engineering maintenance and minor improvement works national, county or in an assigned districtor districts.
  • Projects shall be carried out within approved budgets, with particular reference to health and safety procedures.
  • Ensure the enforcement of appropriate health and safety risk assessments and precautions commensurate with the complexity of the project, with particular reference to the CDM 2015 regulations.

What we're looking for:


  • Minimum of an HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent Relevant Degree is desirable.
  • Qualified trades people within an appropriate trade with suitable supervisory experience will be considered.
  • Experience in the management and organisation of engineering maintenance works.
  • In depth experience in the provision of building specifications/drawings (AutoCad Lt is essential) for maintenance and minor improvement works.
  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of engineering services (mechanical and electrical) in relation to the overall maintenance of buildings. Including heating, lighting gas, fire and intruder alarms and domestic water services
  • Must be able to diagnose mechanical and electrical defects, identify solutions and communicate these effectively to the relevant parties.

Qualifications required
Must have HNC or HND and experience with AutoCAD


Desirable Skills/Experience
AS there are education and council buildings, a good awareness of Carbon neutral and carbon reduction is important
