Introduction:

Our client works within Defence, Government, Critical National Infrastructure and Aerospace and are looking for a Commercial Officer to support the analysis of commercial risks in the business, commercial sales and procurement guidance.

The role is varied and includes reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of contract paperwork and leading commercial governance process for bids.

This is an excellent opportunity for a varied role, working for a company who really cares about their staff and works on incredibly exciting projects

This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.

Key responsibilities:

Providing commercial advice across procurement, bids and sales.
Reviewing and approving calloff contracts under a wide variety of framework types.
Drafting and agreement of sales and procurement agreements.
Analysis and negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
Commercial risk identification, mitigation, and management.
Providing commercial support throughout contract delivery.
Input to approvals processes, attendance and input at bid and governance meetings.
Training noncommercial staff in commercial and procurement issues.
Development of commercial processes and procedures.

Skills & experience:

The individual will have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience with Defence/Government/Aerospace, at least some of which spent working for a private company.
Experience of negotiating complex contract terms with suppliers and/or clients.
Ability to analyse, interpret and draft contractual wording with a strong attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience of contract law is highly desirable.
