Description
Introduction:
Our client works within Defence, Government, Critical National Infrastructure and Aerospace and are looking for a Commercial Officer to support the analysis of commercial risks in the business, commercial sales and procurement guidance.
The role is varied and includes reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of contract paperwork and leading commercial governance process for bids.
This is a hybrid role with 2-3 days on site per week.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing commercial advice across procurement, bids and sales.
- Reviewing and approving calloff contracts under a wide variety of framework types.
- Drafting and agreement of sales and procurement agreements.
- Analysis and negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
- Commercial risk identification, mitigation, and management.
- Providing commercial support throughout contract delivery.
- Input to approvals processes, attendance and input at bid and governance meetings.
- Training noncommercial staff in commercial and procurement issues.
- Development of commercial processes and procedures.
Skills & experience:
- The individual will have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience with Defence/Government/Aerospace, at least some of which spent working for a private company.
- Experience of negotiating complex contract terms with suppliers and/or clients.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and draft contractual wording with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience of contract law is highly desirable.
