Full time / Part Time; Permanent

Salary Range:
£23,920 - £26,000 (plus sleep in allowance: £55)

At BASE Support Services, we specialise in delivering care and support to children and young people aged with a commitment to help them achieve their full potential.

The care we provide is trauma informed with a strengths-based approach embedded throughout the service.


We are looking for empathetic, dedicated individuals who share our values and commitment to the care of young people to join our team.

You would have the opportunity to work across our homes to maximise your experience, whilst also playing a key role in identifying where your individual skills are best matched.


About the job
You will be working within a team supporting children and young people achieve their best outcomes.

Through a PACE informed approach, supported by bespoke training and clinical guidance, you will work alongside children to support their development and promote their voice at every step.


The role of Residential Care Worker is key to providing a safe, nurturing, and fun environment where children and young people can thrive.

You will be responsible for maintaining the environment through household task, meal preparation and supporting young people to appointments.


Working in line with the Statement of Purpose, you will support the delivery of education plans and actively promote young people's intellectual development, whilst taking responsibility for the safe running of the home providing individualised care to meet children's needs.


You will contribute to the implementation and amendment of placement and risk management plans through direct work with our young people to ensure their views are heard and individual needs are met.

Requirements (Skills and Qualifications)

  • Be child centred, with a high level of empathy and integrity in your work
  • Be an effective communicator with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children, their families and network of professionals and wider support
  • A commitment to personal and professional development
  • Hold or working toward Level 2 Core & Level 3 Practice in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) (or equivalent for registration with SCW)
  • Previous experience of working within a residential setting (desirable)
  • Experience of working with young people in a childcare setting
  • Full and current driving license and be prepared to use the company car to transport young people as necessary

Additional information

Hours - Full time & Part time, 4-week rolling shift pattern including evening / weekend work and sleepins.
