Description

As part of the Group Finance Department, manage the day to day activity of the Accounts Payable and Expenses team, working closely with company suppliers and employees.

Key responsibilities will be to oversee the team's daily activities to ensure the creditors'ledger is operated accurately and efficiently, group policy and controls are applied at all times and to encourage, up-skill and develop the team.


Main Duties:


  • Coordinate the AP team's daytoday duties and ensure payment of invoices and employees' expenses are made accurately and on time.
  • Supervise administration of supplier accounts master data including bank details and system analysis structure.
  • Check and approve payment runs and manual journals.
  • Oversee general training and ensure all team members are clear on how to undertake their duties effectively.
  • Maintain team process notes and ensure that they are accurate and up to date.
  • Oversee the AP/expenses monthly audit and controls checklist.
  • Support the review and driving of process improvements across the payables function to improve team efficiency and production.
  • Production of KPIs, MI and stats.
  • Take team members' monthly 1:1s and support their progression for their quarterly appraisals.
  • Assist with recruitment.
  • Undertake any other duties which may be requested by the line manager.

Essential Skills:


  • Minimum of three years' recent experience in a supervisory / team leader role.
  • Experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literate with demonstrable ability in Microsoft packages and databases, (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work on own initiative with strong time management.
  • A customer focused approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Desired Skills:


  • Hold or currently studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT / ACCA / CIMA).
