Van Driver - Working across Worcestershire and Herefordshire

Purpose of the job:

Working Tuesday and Friday plus one other day ( to be confirmed ) from 8.00am until 4.

00 pm you will:
Collect donations, deliver purchased goods and move goods from shop to shop as need demands

To contact clients to arrange for collection or delivery of goods

To visit client's homes to collect and deliver items
To assess if goods are appropriate to be sold in the shops
To circulate goods between shops
To ensure that all deliveries and collections are carried out in a safe and proper manner making full use of any safety equipment provided.
To take responsibility for your own Health & Safety in the workplace, and that of clients, informing the Head of Retail of any safety concerns and abiding at all times by the Age UK Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
To ensure that all works are carried out as efficiently as possible and to organise your working day in such a way as to maximise the hours available.
To ensure that the delivery van is kept clean and tidy and that any mechanical issues are reported immediately.
To undertake any reasonable jobs on Age UK premises as requested.

Clients

To sign post and / or refer clients to other Age UK services if there is an apparent need and if the client agrees to it.

Administration

To keep accurate and timely records of all aspects of the job.
To abide by Age UK policies and procedures at all times.

General

To at all times treat the clients with respect
To work closely with shop staff and take direction from the Head of Retail.
To participate in training as required and directed by the Head of Retail
To attend regular supervision with the Head of Retail
To undertake any other duties that may reasonably fall within the scope and grading of the post.
