Description
The role of team leader is to work on the production line whilst managing the day to day duties of our spray department.
The job is varied but the main duties will include working on the shop floor to ensure work is completed on time in an efficient way and liaising with other members of staff within the organisation, organizing work schedules and ensuring that all consumable items and paint are in stock for the required work.
As a team leader, you will have exceptional communication skills as you will be the contact point for all team members.
Ultimately, you will lead by setting a good example and engage the team to achieve the company's goals. This is a working role with physical activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daytoday operation of the painting department, schedule work & materials, help to produce work to meet agreed delivery dates.
- Ensure that a strong safety culture is achieved and that all safety rules and policies are adhered to at all times.
- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture to motivate team members
- Set deadlines and delegate tasks
- Monitor team performance and report on metrics
- Discover training needs and provide coaching
- Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
- Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
- Encourage creativity and brainstorm with the team ways to consistently improve and oversee quality control
- Organize collections & deliveries of materials, and order paint and associated materials through department manager.
- Keep health and safety is maintained and records updated
- Ensure general housekeeping and maintenance is implemented on a daily/weekly basis. Carry out site visits as and when required to ensure orders are correct and any issues sorted before goods are fabricated and/or painted
Requirements
- Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
- Indepth knowledge of performance metrics
- Excellent PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Smartsheet
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Organizational and timemanagement skills
- Decisionmaking skills
- A qualification in management or training in team leading is a plus
Package
Salary:
£26,000 per annum with NEST pension scheme
- 06:30 16:00 Monday Friday. A 17:00 finish is required during peak times and notice would be given in advance.
