  • Provide Credit Control support to the Credit Manager.
  • Provide support to accountants during monthend processes.
  • Provide administration support for the following tasks.
  • Control and manage all aspects of daily cash book processing

Day to day duties of our Finance Assistant:

To support Credit Manager with all aspects of Credit Control, including

  • Consulting with customers to ensure prompt/timely collection of all overdue accounts
  • Gathering documentation for resolving complex customer queries
  • Consulting with relevant internal stakeholders to resolve customer queries
  • Dealing with all queries in a timely manner, inline with existing agreed timescales
  • Reviewing/releasing "credit hold" sales orders in a controlled and timely manner.

Provide cover to Accountants during month-end processes, including:

  • Running month accounts reports on ERP system (JD Edwards)
  • Populating Excel spreadsheets with JDE monthly accounts data (from initial stages through to final completion)
  • Agreeing intercompany balances with related group entities
  • Archiving Monthly Management account reports onto computer network
  • Provide administration cover for the company's
  • Fixed Asset Register (including reconciling monthly values to JD Edwards)
  • Insurance claims
  • Insurance policy information
  • Motor vehicle insurance records
  • Motor Insurance Database (MID)

Control and manage all aspects of daily cash book processing:

  • Processing all ad-hoc bank payments/receipts on JD Edwards
  • Reconciling JD Edwards bank records to company bank accounts
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations for relevant company bank accounts
  • Processing monthly journals to recognise all unprocessed bank payment/receipt transactions

The Successful FInance Assistant must have the following skills/experience:

  • AAT qualified (or similar)
  • Good human relations skills with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work autonomously, organize and prioritize work as working to tight deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Good negotiation skills with a professional but assertive manner.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. 8. Proficient with computers including spreadsheets (intermediate/advanced Excel user), word processing and database usage.
  • JD Edwards experience a huge advantage.
  • Able to work hours as required during peak times such as yearend, quarterend, monthend, audits, etc.
