This permanent apprenticeship role is available immediately.

You will be employed by the University of Exeter in the Global Advancement Team at our Streatham campus in Exeter and will be enrolled on the Level Three Business Administration Course apprenticeship with Exeter College.


The starting salary for this role will be £24,058 apprentice grade C per year, progressing to £24,419 in your second year.

Through your apprenticeship, you will gain knowledge, practical experience, and develop the skills you need to do this job and to succeed in your career.

Summary of the role


This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity within the Global Advancement team at the University to gain a Business Admin Level 3 qualification.


Supporter Engagement and Philanthropy have played an increasingly significant role in the success of the University of Exeter in recent years.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide admin support to the wider Global Advancement team to help achieve the University's fundraising and Volunteering goals.

This opportunity offers a wide variety of tasks, supporting all areas of the team from operations to regular giving and philanthropy.

The University is currently in the planning phase of its largest ever campaign, which seeks to raise £150 million and 150,000 volunteering hours by 2030.

University and training provider interviews and will take place on a date to be confirmed.

Requirements and Prospects:

  • Previous recent experience in an office environment
  • A good understanding and experience of booking travel and accommodation
  • An understanding of how to operate in a highly confidential environment.
  • Good IT skills, including strong Excel skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training as required.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with a variety of people.
  • The ability to work positively as part of a team.
  • Ability to take appropriate initiative and work reliably without constant supervision.
  • A flexible approach and a willingness to be helpful at all times.


On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will have gained valuable skills, experience, and there may be opportunities to continue your career working at the University of Exeter.


Training Provided:


You will attend Exeter College one day a week (during term time) working towards your Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.


Additional Information:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English, with good standards of literacy and numeracy.
