Commercial Vehicle Technician/Fitter
**Role Summary
Location:
Based in Northallerton
Salary:
£31,363 - £33,907 (plus supplement and standby)
Contract:
Permanent, Full time (on a rota basis) 40 hours per week

As NY Highways continue to grow, we are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Commercial Vehicle Technicians to join the team based in our Northallerton depot.
We help to keep North Yorkshire moving and you will be playing a key role in this; ensuring our fleet maintains mechanical readiness by carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles to DVSA standards.
Duties include:
- MOT preparation
- Diagnosis of vehicle faults using a variety of diagnostic equipment
- Carrying out scheduled servicing of vehicles
- Rectification of defects as reported
- Brake Testing and repair
- Fabrication and welding
- Ensure work is carried out in line with workshop H&S procedures
- Complete job cards with accurate details in a timely manner
- Mentoring and development of apprentice's
- Cover out of hours working on a 24/7 call out roster basis
As well playing an integral part of NY Highways and helping us to deliver the best service to our community, you will be joining us at an exciting time.
***For this role you will have: - Class C HGV driving license
- City & Guilds, NVQ or BTEC in HGV vehicle maintenance
- A knowledge of diagnostics across different brands and the use of diagnostic equipment
- Able to work unsupervised with the flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks
- Communicate and work well with other colleagues
