We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapy Lead to join a Therapies team in a private hospital in Central London.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday.


Speech and Language Therapy Lead Job Role:
As Speech and Language Therapy Lead you will lead the team and drive forward service and delivery. You will have the opportunity to develop and build a first-class service and team.


Key Duties:


  • Lead as an expert level practitioner demonstrating advanced knowledge and skills within the field of speech and language therapy. This will include the integration of research evidence into practice via the process of advanced clinical reasoning and decisionmaking.
  • Implement advanced theoretical and practical knowledge to analyse highly complex and sometimes conflicting information to develop integrated and collaborative care pathways.
  • Utilising advanced assessment skills, recognise the need for appropriate investigations according to the patient's clinical need and perform these investigations (inc. video fluoroscopy and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES)) where appropriate. To follow up the results of these investigations and organise appropriate and timely management.
  • Utilise highly advanced theoretical, practical and evidencebased knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology to support expert clinical reasoning skills.
  • Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Health and Care Professions Council
  • Licence to practice registered
  • Member Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • Extensive experience of working in adult Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Experience of working in the management of head and neck cancer and intensive care.
