Fowler Welch (Part of the Culina Group) operates in the fresh produce sector providing time critical logistics solutions for major retailers, growers and manufacturers across the UK.
Job Description:
Responsible for leading the day traffic operations team and driver team in ensuring the planning of Company and Third Party resources.
Salary:
£36,000 - £38,400 per annum DOE
Shift:
Wednesday to Saturday nights,
Key Duties of a Transport Supervisor:
- To ensure that all elements of the job are communicated effectively to all personnel especially drivers and sub-contractors.
- To plan the effective utilisation of drivers, vehicles, subcontractors and agency drivers and ensuring that all the companies' sites are considered when doing so
- To ensure that people under your control work within a safe environment and follow drivers hours regulations when driving
- Close liaison with fellow team members and management to discuss efficiencies and agreed operational practises.
- To assist in the control of equipment ensuring that customer requirements are met and recorded.
- To monitor RDC performances
- To liaise with customers regarding present or future developments
- To assist in the Management of the balance between own fleet and sub contract requirements
- To support and if necessary covering the Operations Manager in meetings or customer reviews
- To ensure that all vehicle and trailer services are completed on time
- To ensure Chainware completed daily and all trips fully resourced on a daily basis
- To undertake additional tasks/duties as may be required by management from time to time
Qualifications:
- LGV driving licence is desirable
- Experience of fleet maintenance
- Knowledge and experience of FMCG environment
- Current CPC would be advantageous
- Experience of vehicle servicing and maintenance within a similar environment
- Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics
- Thoroughness/attention to detail
- Able to work effectively in a team
- Good communication skills
