Clinical Negligence Solicitor or FCILEX | Up to £38,000 depending on experience | South Manchester | Full time


Reed Legal Recruitment are currently partnered with a prestigious law firm looking to recruit a Clinical Negligence Solicitor or FCILEX.

Working for a community driven firm, you will provide legal advice on all areas of clinical negligence.

The job does not carry any direct supervisory responsibility, but you will play an important role in the team in helping to achieve the Department's objectives.


Reporting to the Head of Department, duties and experience include:

  • Manage a caseload of medical negligence work both litigated and pre-litigated.
  • Assess and advise on the prospects of success including claim settlement.
  • Draft witness statements, schedules of loss and letters of claim
  • Instruct medical and legal experts.
  • Assess and advise on the expert reports.
  • Progress claims in a proactive and proportionate manner.
  • Act as first and primary contact for clients on a daytoday basis.
  • Meet chargeable time and KPI targets.


The level of supervision required will be in accordance with the firm's standard system together with further assistance in relation to key decisions on cases.
