FINANCE ASSISTANT p/t 28 hours Tuesday to Friday

Objectives of the Post:
To support the Finance Department in the management of financial systems and the provision of financial information to enable the association to achieve its overall aims and objectives.
KEY TASKS
Purchase Ledger
- Check and sort suppliers' invoices for payment through the correct company
- UHA/UPS/UHDS Purchase Ledger.
- Input invoices onto the finance system utilising the correct VAT treatment.
- Ensure the efficient distribution of invoices to appropriate managers/officers for checking and approval.
- Preparing the weekly payment run.
- Reconcile suppliers' statements with purchase ledger balances on a regular basis.
- Run reports as required as management information for supplier analysis
Sales Ledger
- Prepare monthly rent, service charge and ad hoc invoices on the Sales Ledger for correct company and ensure payments are received, queries are resolved and dealt with in a timely manner and the correct VAT treatment is used.
- Carry out regular debt reviews in conjunction with the Enterprise Manager to ensure outstanding amounts are collected in a timely manner.
- Produce and issue month end reports.
- Raise adhoc sales invoices as required.
Rent accounting and cashflow
- Post to the correct accounts in the housing system, receipts from Allpay, Housing benefit, standing orders and any miscellaneous income.
- Reconcile rental income received with supporting documentation and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with petty cash.
General
- Ensure that all sensitive and confidential information is stored in an appropriate manner.
- Maintain and file documentation as appropriate.
- Be positively involved in selfdevelopment and participate in training courses.
- Be aware of the Associations Value for Money culture and assist in projects as appropriate when investigating costs.
- Maintain a high standard of health and safety in accordance with company policy and legal requirement.
- Work within the Association's Values, Beliefs and Behaviours framework.
- Any other appropriate duties required by the Finance Manager.
