Temporary fixed term for 6 months


Hours: 20 hours per week (26 weeks)


Thurcroft Parish Council is an active Council that seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic person to take on the post of Assistant Clerk to the Council.

The post is part time, 20 hours per week on a 6-month fixed term basis.

Working mainly from the Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall in Thurcroft and within the parish of Thurcroft, the hours of work are flexible except for attendance at meetings or events that may take place on a weekend.


Salary in accordance with National Joint Council recommendations; Pay scale £ £13.95, points 13 to 17, dependent upon qualifications and experience.


Must be IT literate, able to use the Microsoft Office suite, Meta Business suite and Scribe Accounts experience would be desirable.

Computer equipment will be supplied.

Duties will include:

Dealing with day-to-day correspondence for the Council, administration of Council facilities such as allotments, cemetery and recreation fields, managing finances for the facilities and managing events and communication.

Prior relevant experience is an advantage but training in all aspects of local government administration will be provided.
