Accounting Clerk - London, United Kingdom - International Crisis Group

The International Crisis Group is an NGO working to prevent wars and shape policies that will build a more peaceful world.

We are looking for an accounting clerk to work closely and collaboratively with the rest of the Finance team, responsible for several aspects of financial management, accounting and financial reporting at Crisis Group.

• Financial administration, including but not limited to the following:
• Process business expense reports and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures;
• Issue monthly personal account statements and promptly follow up on open items;
• Register invoices, maintain supplier data, prepare payment batches;
• Register bank transactions and carry out bank reconciliations;
• Carry out balance sheet account reconciliations (personal accounts; AP ledger; clearing accounts);
• Prepare assigned monthend entries;
• Review local offices bank/cashbooks.
• Build and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues and suppliers;
• Assist with yearly financial audit, grant audits, analytical reviews, special projects or other adhoc tasks, as required;
• Train staff on internal procedures.

• Accounting degree or similar desirable;
• 3 years of experience as an accounting clerk or similar for nonaccounting degree qualified applicants;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• Numerical skills, accounting literacy with a thorough, methodical approach;
• Selfmotivation and a strong team player;
• Knowledge of MS Excel (use of advanced functions and tables) is essential;
• Knowledge of SUN accounting and VISION software is an advantage;
• Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills is essential;
• Availability to travel to Brussels as relevant.
