Due to expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Waking Night Support Workers to join our supported accommodation and residential homes in Ipswich area.

This role will include lone and group working with young people aged The waking night support team deliver a personalised service to young people, delivering day to day interventions and building a positive relationship.

Each member of the team is encouraged to be creative within their role and group reflective exercises within your team allow for continued personal development.


Job Details:


  • Job Location: Ipswich, Suffolk UK.
  • Hours: 40 per week.
  • To be responsible for managing the project whilst on shift, taking full responsibility for managing the establishment, (the resources and the fabric of the building) and, most importantly, the welfare of the young people.
  • Waking night support worker is responsible for supporting the young person by providing physical and emotional care during the waking night shifts.
  • To encourage regular sleep patterns and support evening and night activities in accordance with a young person's care plan.
  • To ensure that you remain awake throughout the night to monitor residents Health, safety and wellbeing
  • To complete accurate and precise log reports of young people progress throughout the night
  • To record all accidents and incidents involving young people as per the home's procedure and to report any accident/incident at the handover period.
  • Provide support and supervision through the night to young people as per their support plans and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with FEVACA policies, and procedure.

  • Ability to manage issues relating to health and safety.
  • Willingness to manage household tasks.
  • Experience of working with children or young people.
  • Good standard of written and verbal English.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable and able to work under their own initiative.
  • The ability to admit mistakes and ask for help and guidance.
