Description
You will work with a mixed paediatric caseload who have a range of speech, language and communication needs.

You will be responsible for the management, assessment and treatment of the children on these caseloads, with the support of peers and more senior colleagues.

Successful band 6 applicants will contribute to in-service training within the department and to take responsibility for the supervision of students and more junior staff.


There is a salary incentive attached to this role of £1k upon commencement in role and a further £1k after successful completion of probationary period (6 months).
Speech and Language Therapists could have opportunities to work:

  • In mainstream schools with children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
  • In our buyin service within mainstream schools who pay for Speech and Language Therapy to support children who have communication needs but do not have EHCPs.
  • In specialist/additionally resourced provisions supporting children with a variety of severe, additional and complex needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Difficulties, Developmental Language Disorder and Speech Disorders
  • With children/young people who have social, emotional and mental health needs
  • With preschool aged children at dropin clinics, onetoone followups, care pathways and in small groups

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent.

Professional Registration

Essential criteria

  • Health Professions Council License to practice.
