An opportunity has arisen to join the Nottinghamshire established Liaison and Diversion service.

This interesting and challenging post we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individuals who has relevant pre and post qualification experience of working with people with a range of vulnerabilities.


The post will cover both City and County but will have a main base in Nottingham custody suite, but also there is the possibility of cross cover with the Mansfield team which forms a part of the contract.

Working as part of a multi-agency framework within police custody suites and courts, addressing health and social inequalities.


You will be working with individuals who present with complex difficulties and this post offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills andexperience.

Appointed applicants will have access to robust clinical and managerial supervision and career development opportunities.


The Liaison and Diversion service is part of the Low Secure and Community Forensic Directorate, part of the Forensic Division within Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The Directorate has a range of inpatient and community services managed within it.

The service offers supervision and continued professional development opportunities.

The post holder will be encouraged to work within the service in developing and establishing other vulnerabilities pathways within the service.


Working on a shift pattern of 8am-4pm: 12-8pm over 7 days a week, inclusive of bank holidays.


Screening and assessing children and adults for a range of social, health vulnerabilities who are in contact with the criminal justice services.

Identifying needs and sharing relevant information with justice agencies to support in their decision making

Supporting onwards referrals and diversion from the justice system where this is appropriate

Supporting people through the justice processes and to access mainstream services.

Police vetting is required as part of the job role as access is needed to police custody.

The Liaison and Diversion Service are based over the City and County and have teams based in both Nottingham city and Mansfield custody suites, we are a fast paced service and can experience some complex cases to be dealt with within time constraints from our partner agencies (PACE clock, Court times).

We provide an all vulnerability service to improve health and social outcomes for children and adults who are in contact with the criminal justice system, ensuring good information sharing
across agencies.

We are made up of Nurses, Social workers, Support workers, Peer support workers, Speech and Language and Psychology.

As it can be a demanding role it is recognised that the importance of regular supervision and clinical development does support this role.


The wellbeing of the team is of high importance and is prioritised with access to regular reflective practice and shared learning through regular caseload and business meetings.
