Trainee Purchasing Assistant


We have a fantastic opportunity for a
Trainee Purchasing Assistant to join a successful, innovative and growing specialist vehicle manufacturer.


Equi-Trek Limited are going from strength to strength and have recently added blue light vehicles to our portfolio of motorhomes, trailers and equine transport.

We are looking for someone to join our Purchasing Team to maintain relationships with current suppliers and establish new ones, purchase ordering and monitoring stock control and sourcing new products.


Role
- working in a buying capacity within manufacturing
- managing suppliers, order and delivery chasing
- work to improve the performance and efficiency of existing practices
- this is a very hands-on position demanding high levels of creativity and flexibility


Key Responsibilities:

- ensure supply with maximum efficiency and minimum cost
- monitor timely receipt of materials, product availability and cost effectiveness
- maintaining existing supply chain - checking product availability and ensuring cost effectiveness
- contribute to the continuous improvement of existing processes
- ensure stock projections and availability are accurate
- plan accordingly for special trading periods
