Data Centre and Mission Critical sector
Our client has established a specialist arm to its already thriving consultancy to give focus and impetus to the growth of their Project Management business within the Data Centre and Mission Critical sector.
Senior Project Manager to support the growth of this business stream.
The role of the Senior Project Manager is to manage the definition and delivery of project management commissions and to work directly alongside client customers and project teams to assist and advise them on their projects or groups of projects, includingthe management of other in-house resources, with due skill and care.
This Senior Project Manager will manage data centre construction and technical infrastructure (M&E services) upgrade projects; this is not an IT-related role.
Knowledge / Experience**:
- Experience in managing construction projects involving complex engineering services installations.
- Experience of successfully delivering data centre projects or projects in other relevant sectors i.e., pharmaceutical, infrastructure, industrial, manufacturing, biomedical, petrochemical or similar.
- Technical knowledge of construction, mechanical and electrical services, controls (BMS) and security installations.
- An indepth understanding of the technical, procedural, contractual and commercial aspects of project delivery.
- Experience and understanding of procuring consultant, supply and construction contracts.
- Experience of managing local and remotely based collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
Skills:
- Good communication skills are required (written and verbal).
- A methodical and highly organised individual.
- Ability to manage scope, cost, programme, quality and risks to deliver clients' business goals. A problem solver.
- Ability to formulate and implement a clear strategy for project delivery through all stages.
- Expertise in financial management, programme management and managing project dependencies and risks.
- Ability to provide high quality and accurate reports and programmes.
- A high degree of project management and coordination skills to maximise available resources; add value; deliver to milestones; drive to closure and exceed client expectations.
- Ability to work and contribute to a virtual team, being influential whilst recognising other disciplines' expertise to support.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, being succinct at stakeholder level and inclusive at direct and virtual team level.
- Good Microsoft and Powerproject software skills.
Qualifications:
- Academic qualification in a relevant construction or engineering discipline.
- Professional qualification e.g., chartered project manager, surveyor or engineer is advantageous.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Other European languages desirable.
