Sustainability Manager

Harwell Campus, Oxfordshire

Fixed term, until March 2025

£32,005 per annum

Would you like to play a key role in implementing sustainability?

If you are interested in working in a scientific environment, identifying, developing and implementing new sustainability initiatives this could be the post for you.

Be part of a dynamic organisation that is helping to promote scientific discovery using mouse models to promote advances in human disease.

You will evaluate our sustainability requirements, develop projects to supervise and improve environmental issues and,where appropriate, put in place processes to improve sustainability.

About us

Key Responsibilities include:

Evaluate site sustainability and future requirements in line with UKRI sustainability plan and current best practice
Gather information across all departments to support and develop a sitewide strategic plan
Work alongside all departments to implement strategic plan and where necessary change current thinking
Evaluate which sustainability ideas are being considered and implemented across other MRC units and how these could be executed at MRC Harwell
Implement and maintain the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF)

About you:

Degree level qualification in science with a proven curiosity about sustainability issues and/or comparable experience in an environmental science or sustainability field.
Previous experience working in a sustainability field and in a laboratory environment
Experience of implementing sustainability ideas
