About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen with Rockleigh Court Surgery for a part-time receptionist. You will be required to work between Monday to Friday for 15 hours per week.

In this essential front-line position, the role is responsible for ensuring that appointment bookings are well-managed, a safe high-quality service is delivered to our patients and patient queries are answered


Duties include:

  • Greeting and directing all patients;
  • Making appointments and giving out appointment cards, where required;
  • Accepting, issuing and handing out prescriptions, letters, completed forms, specimen bottles, etc.;
  • Dealing with requests for information, and managing problems and complaints;
  • Advising patients of practice procedures;
  • Registering new patients;
  • Answering the telephone, promptly.


The successful applicant will have an excellent telephone manner, be a team player, have the ability to work under pressure and problem solve and be flexible to be able to work extra hours to support colleague's sickness and holiday absence.


Previous experience of working in primary care and knowledge of SystmOne would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
