Here at UPP we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Management Assistant to join our Cartwright Gardens (Euston/Kings Cross) Team.


  • This is a permanent fulltime position working 38.5 hours per week on a rolling rota basis, 4 days in 4 days off. The salary is £26,767 per annum._


The Facilities Management Assistant will be responsible for operating the Front of house, and a computerised system that controls real-time helpdesk monitoring for reactive and planned maintenance work.


Role responsibilities include:

  • Provide an excellent and comprehensive reception service to the residence and to the offices; keep records of all visitors, contractors and issue keys when required
  • Assist the relevant manager(s) in the coordination of all onsite activities and daytoday administration plus complete all regular reporting
  • Carry out regular walks of the residence and grounds, monitoring and reporting any security/safety issues to the relevant manager
  • Monitor the conduct of students, encouraging reasonable and fair behaviour, reporting any breach of the Code of Conduct and license agreement
  • Manage and monitor outofhours access to the residence, ensuring compliance with fire, health & safety procedures and any relevant residence instructions
  • Liaise, as necessary, with other UPP staff, university clients, subcontractors, residents and conference delegates
  • Minor maintenance jobs after full training are provided and other reasonable requests.

We are looking for you to have experience in a similar role and environment with excellent communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to work as a team to do an excellent job.


You will also be flexible to work (with notice) additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
