Private Client Advice Financial Planner

Salary £65k to £75k DOE plus + 2 X discretionary bonuses a year.
We are working on behalf of our client who is a Globally Recognised, Independent Investment Adviser. They are recruiting for a
Private Client Financial Planner. The purpose of the position is to provide regulated financial advice existing UK clients.

Areas of advice include retirement, planning (pre and post), pension switches/transfers, cash flow planning, taxation and Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning.

As
Financial Planner you will typically work with pensions, ISAs, General Investment Accounts, investment bonds (onshore and offshore) and trusts.


Duties and responsibilities of
Financial Planner:


  • Provide ongoing financial advice covering a broad range of topics:
  • Pensions and Retirement Planning pension contributions, carry forward, lifetime allowance (LTA) planning & drawdown advice.
  • Inheritance tax and Estate Planning.
  • Taxefficient cash flow strategies using cashflow analyses.


  • Optimising Investments

  • Reviewing suitability of investment wrappers.
  • Provide advice to clients over the phone and in writing, with some facetoface client meetings required as you develop within the role.
  • Coordinate with Investment Counsellors to evaluate client/prospect objectives, portfolio holdings, timehorizon,
- cash flow needs, and financial situation to determine a suitable benchmark recommendation.

  • Review and formulate plans for clients/prospects with highly specialised situations.
  • Review existing clients' existing pension and investment bond arrangements to determine whether a transfer is suitable.
  • Work with the other departments to develop new resources needed by Sales.
  • Create and lead training for other groups within the firm as needed.
  • Work on ad hoc projects to improve the efficiency of Private Client Advice Group.
  • Adhere to the T&C scheme to ensure regulatory compliance related to the provision of regulated advice.

Qualifications for the
Financial Planner:


  • A University degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Level 4 Qualification
  • CII Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning or CISI Investment Advice Diploma preferable.
  • Level 6/Chartered status would be ideal but not essential.

3+ years financial services experience required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Extremely attentive to detail.
  • Quantitative in nature.
  • Highly selfmotivated.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Very strong understanding of our client's portfolio management philosophies and Financial Planning principles.
  • Exceptional understanding of client suitability.
  • Strong understanding of our client's research resources and process.
