Field Care Supervisor


Responsible to:
Registered Manager

Reports to Care Manager

General Statement of Duties

To work as a senior team member in partnership with the Management and other

Workers.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise/support staff as agreed with management of Care to You
  • Complete new client assessments and manage reviews and risk assessments as part of the senior team
  • Assist with client bookings to support Care coordinator to ensure safe cover.
  • To take part in senior oncall rota to support service safety and coordination.
  • Assist Deputy Manager with recruitment and Induction of new staff.
  • Ensure staff are supervised and spot checks and professional compliances are evidenced as part of senior team and as allocated.
  • Supporting the safe service delivery when cover for clients' calls is required.
  • To work in conjunction with the management of Care to you
  • To work with clients, in cooperation with other staff and agencies, on the
development and implementation of individual client centred care plans.

  • To assist people, advocate on their behalf and to maintain their rights and
responsibilities in receiving services that will support them in achieving them

desired outcomes as detailed in their care plans.

  • To attend meetings with other staff, management, and other relevant agencies.
  • To attend/chair team meetings to engage in the exchange of
information and communication internally and externally to meet identified needs and foster professional development.

  • To assist service users who need help with getting up in the morning, dressing,
undressing, washing, bathing and toileting.

  • To help service users with mobility issues and other physical disabilities,
including continence support and help in use and care of aids and personal

equipment.

Ensure staff are following best practice in Medication, manual Handling, Mental Capacity, and Infection control practice.

  • To help care for service users who are dying.
  • To support service uses with specialist needs i.e., stoma/catheter support.
  • To help in the promotion of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of service users.
  • To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes if need arises.
  • To read and write reports and take part in training activities as directed.
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
  • To comply with the agency's guidelines and policies at all times.
  • To report to the agency manager any significant changes in the health, wellbeing, or circumstances of a service user.
  • To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible.

Job Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Able to understand and be sensitive and sympathetic to needs of the
client groups

  • Positive attitude, Enthusiastic, Selfmotivated
  • Able to demonstrate a commitment to continual personal & professional
Development and show willingness to undergo training as may be required

  • Able to work flexibility Mon to Sun 24hrs
  • Enhanced DBS disclosure
  • Full Driving licence and access to transport for business use
  • Use of a fully working and maintained mobile phone
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Implications of home care working within a client's home.
  • Active team player but also able to work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge and understanding of external partner agencies.
  • Well organised. Good interpersonal skills. I.T. Literate.
  • Ability to work under pressure on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, one to one, and in groups, in a wide range of contexts.
  • Knowledge of Care & support in lone working capacity.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to organise and produce written information clearly and concisely to tight deadlines.
  • All staff are expected to respect the requirements under the Data Protection Act1998. /GDPR 201
  • Staff must ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the health
- and Safety at Work Act 197
  • Be aware of and promote best practice to ensure compliance with Health and Social care act 2008. KLOE /CQC awareness.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally
  • Independent judgment must be exercised in handling unusual situations.
  • To take on other duties appropriate to post not specifically mentioned in job description.
