Head of Finance - Publishing - Central London
We are looking for a fully qualified Head of Finance for an industry leading business within the Media/Publishing industry. This Head of Finance position is responsible for the day to day running of the finance division including the month-end close, managingand developing the central finance team, driving key systems and financial process improvements and supporting the Group FC

The role is working hybrid, and can either be based in London or the Chichester offices.

Please note if you are based in London you will be expected to commute to the Chichester office just once per week.


Key responsibilities:
(but not limited to)


  • Direct line management finance managers/management accountants within the Central Finance function
  • Management accounts responsibility for submission to the Group FC
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliation reviews
  • Finance System Transformation and Development
  • Inventory accounting
  • Audit & stat accounts oversight
  • Group consolidation system (FPM) reporting
  • Cashflow control, banking approvals and cashflow forecasting/reporting
  • Financial controls maintenance & improvements
  • Responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts for entities within the Trade division of the UK group
  • Input and reconciliation of UK group reporting into Group consolidation system
  • Identify and implement ways to make optimal use of the new ERP system to drive improvements in the month end close process and management accounts reporting
  • Hands on responsibility for ensuring the smooth day to day running and management of the Central Finance team
  • Engage closely with the technical team in a handson way to embed and drive optimal use of the recent Finance Transformation to Dynamics 36
  • Identify and implement systems and financial process improvements in the new ERP system to drive efficiency, scalability, accuracy and a strong control environment
  • Preparation of audit schedules prefieldwork

Key skills:


  • Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3+ years post qualified experience
  • A background within the Publishing industry would be beneficial but not essential
  • Prior experience within management reporting, financial reporting, financial operations and technical accounting
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience with Finance Transformation and Systems Development
  • IT savvy with good Excel
  • An understanding of MS Dynamics would be an advantage
