About you

Objectives
You will help our clients achieve their goals as they develop, manage and operate in the marine environment.

We are looking for a Principal Consultant to join our team of Environment specialists, responsible for managing and advising on a wide range of large-scale marine and coastal projects, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.


You will have relevant experience and interest in one or more marine disciplines, such as marine ecology, ornithology, fisheries and aquaculture, water and sediment quality, socio-economics, Nature-based Solutions, habitat creation and restoration, or climate change.


Responsibilities
You will contribute to a range of different projects, and responsibilities may include:

  • Project management and delivery
  • Client and stakeholder engagement
  • Environmental Assessments including Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessments, Water Framework Directive, Marine Conservation Zone, Strategic Environmental Assessments and Sustainability Appraisals
  • Coordinating and managing projects through the marine licensing and consenting process
  • Preparation and contribution to the proposal/tendering process
  • Business development

Requirements:


You have a degree in a relevant environmental discipline including a good understanding of the marine environment, and at least five years' relevant experience in a consultancy or regulatory background.


You have skills and experience in:

  • Project management
  • Marine environmental assessments, policy and planning
  • Evidence reviews and assessments
  • Knowledge of maritime sectors and activities
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Report writing and presentations

Location
Our main offices are based at Town Quay in Southampton. This position will report directly into our offices in the Humber region - either Hull, Grimsby or Immingham.


We recognise it is not always convenient to work from a central office every weekday, which is why we provide flexible and hybrid working options.

However, there will be a requirement to come to our offices from time to time, and to visit client sites.
