Job description:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse role, where no day is the same.
They will work as part of the internal communications team as a trusted adviser, working in partnership with directors, corporate senior leaders, colleagues in communications, and in the wider agency to deliver campaigns, announcements and 'business as usual' communications.
The role supports the planning and sharing of internal communications to DVSA's c4500 colleagues, around 80% of which work on the frontline and are geographically dispersed across the country.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to identify communications objectives, and design and develop effective, evidence based, corporate internal communications plans, campaigns and messages.
- Using channels with a focus on building engagement and encouraging two way or multiway communication and conversations.
- Developing and producing online communications content such as articles and blogs, and supporting the running events; both face to face to face and virtual.
- Developing, producing and presenting evaluation of internal communications.
- Demonstrating leadership by providing guidance to colleagues to support the delivery of objectives.
- Managing and engaging with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
Person specification:
About you
To be successful in role you must hold or be willing to work towards a professional communications qualification.
You must have excellent written and spoken communication skills, including experience of creative writing, writing in plain English and to a style guide and writing for digital channels.
You will have experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders and be able to influence, persuade and develop relationships.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in a communications team (for example - internal communications, digital communications, external communications or press office).
This would include experience of offering communications advice to colleagues and managing communications activities, delivering agreed activity on time and to budget.
You must be able to work with the business to agree communications objectives based on evidence where possible. You will understand the importance of developing communications objectives and measuring the effectiveness of internal communications.It is essential that you have the ability to work to deadlines on multiple topics and manage conflicting priorities.
Additional Information
This role can be based in Swansea, Nottingham or Bristol your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you.
expectation is that you will spend a minimum
60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
There will be occasional travel to other UK offices and overnight stays required.
There will be ample learning and development opportunities within role.
