Investment Operations manage and process our clients' business, overseeing investment accounting and ensuring the accuracy of the Portfolio Managers' accounts.

We develop solutions that meet our clients' end-to-end needs, whilst also providing operational support to JPMAM's Portfolio Management teams and client groups globally.

If placed within the Solutions Middle Office team, you will support a $380 billion global business that invests in multiple asset classes including equity, fixed income, derivatives and alternatives, within Mutual Funds, ETFs and segregated client accounts.

You will help drive the business forward, while getting a behind-the-scenes look at how the business runs.

You'll work on implementing new ideas to improve and enhance our operating model and work closely with functions such as Technology, Business Management, Client Services, Core Operations and other Middle Office teams.


The primary responsibility of the Middle Office team is to provide support to the respective Portfolio Management teams (and other Front Office stakeholders) globally, through the oversight and execution of stringent operational processes that ensure accurate portfolio views and that tracking error is minimized, ultimately leading to seamless reporting for the AM Solutions Front Office and Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) business.


The Middle Office team are required to be knowledgeable of the end to end process, communicating effectively with other Operational workstreams, Technology teams and a variety of other stakeholders across the Business.

Additional responsibilities include maintenance of production infrastructure and maintaining controls for any changes to production.


The role requires attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure, with strict adherence to deadlines, and an overall appreciation for risk and controls.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Act as first point of contact for AMS Investment Team queries.
  • Support pipeline of strategic project work for the global AMS Middle Office Team; defining, documenting and coordinating solutions driven by Business and Operational priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the AM Solutions Business, ETF Business (Capital Markets and Platform), Technology and other operational support groups.
  • Provide operational support for Exchange Traded Funds and Beta products, across several different strategies, account models and platforms.
  • Provide oversight of delegated and offshore processes.
  • Liaise with third party providers to validate variances on data.
  • Identify areas for improvement, working with global partners to seek consistency in operating environment coupled with strong controls.
  • Ensure effective escalation of issues to senior management.

Core Skillsets:


  • Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and operational touchpoints, with experience of ETF products (and the operational support of) beneficial.
  • Industry experience, preferably with time spent in Operations.
  • Ability to work independently and to proactively seek guidance from others as needed.
  • Organisational skills and Project Management experience.
  • Strong team player and has the capacity to build good working relationships with cross functional/geographical teams.
  • Results oriented; accepting responsibilities and challenges that take them outside their comfort zone.
  • Positive outlook and a desire to stretch themselves to achieve both personal and functional success.
  • Partners well with peers, managers, and other LOB and functional partners
  • Capability to manage and handle escalations by liaising with the internal & external stakeholders of the business.
