Description

Understanding the complex 3D architecture of biological structures is essential for driving forward innovation enabling groundbreaking steps forward in treatments for disease and disorder and is also rapidly being adopted as a valuable tool in other research areas.

At ConnectomX we have pioneered a revolutionary 3D electron microscopy technology which is now being utilised by scientists globally to visualise 3D ultrastructure's which are vital to further understanding in multiple areas including life science and material research.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Applications Engineer to join our small team.

The role will require a dynamic individual, who is excellent at problem solving and working autonomously. A significant part of the role will be to support customers globally. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on an innovative technology in a cutting-edge field of research.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct both remote and in person SEM product demonstrations.
  • Assist sales by collecting test datasets and liaising with potential customers to understand their requirements and configurations.
  • Provide training covering installation, software integration and data acquisition.
  • Assist R&D to validate new products and upgrades before taking them to market.
  • Assist field service where necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to customer workshops and conferences.
  • Contribute to ongoing collaborations with external industrial and academic partners.

Your Profile:


  • Master's degree in Physical sciences, Life Science, Engineering or a related discipline, including 2 years relevant experience in industry or academia in a science or engineering discipline using highvalue scientific instrumentation (PhD preferred).
  • Experience in operating electron microscopes (SEM/TEM) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in image processing, data analysis and software programming are highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills.
  • Capability to communicate complex scientific information.
  • Passion to solve complex challenges as part of a multidisciplinary team in a structured and responsible manner.
  • Willingness for occasional international travel.

This is a full-time permanent position and in addition to a competitive salary (35K - 42K negotiable), ConnectomX offers flexible working hours, hybrid working, 25 days annual leave and personal pension plan.
