Are you a Physiotherapist, Nurse or Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in pain management?
We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in one of these professions to join our pain management service in the North West as a Pain Clinical Specialist.
We offer full-time hours from 9-5 Mon-Fri, no shifts, excellent rates of pay, paid HCPC/NMC fees and protected learning time to support your professional development.
What does being a Pain Clinical Specialist involve?
- Delivering relevant, effective and sensitive pain management to individuals and groups, as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Promoting patient education and understanding of pain, rehabilitation and selfmanagement strategies on an individual basis and as part of a group
- Ensuring that pain management is focused on the patient's individual needs
- Ensuring own clinical standards comply with CQC requirements, including infection control, patient safety, equity, protection of vulnerable people and data protection
- Contributing to clinical team development and MDT meetings
- Understanding of the importance of psychological approaches
What skills and experience will you need to apply?
- Demonstratable experience and interest in chronic pain
- NMC or HCPC professional registration
- Background in physiotherapy, nursing or occupational therapy
- Prior experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
- Knowledge of cognitive behavioural therapy techniques
