Are you a Physiotherapist, Nurse or Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in pain management?


We have an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in one of these professions to join our pain management service in the North West as a Pain Clinical Specialist.

The role is flexible with both face to face clinics and home working telephone clinics. The clinics are based across the North West in Manchester, Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale, Tameside & Glossop, West Lancashire.


We offer full-time hours from 9-5 Mon-Fri, no shifts, excellent rates of pay, paid HCPC/NMC fees and protected learning time to support your professional development.


What does being a Pain Clinical Specialist involve?

  • Delivering relevant, effective and sensitive pain management to individuals and groups, as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Promoting patient education and understanding of pain, rehabilitation and selfmanagement strategies on an individual basis and as part of a group
  • Ensuring that pain management is focused on the patient's individual needs
  • Ensuring own clinical standards comply with CQC requirements, including infection control, patient safety, equity, protection of vulnerable people and data protection
  • Contributing to clinical team development and MDT meetings
  • Understanding of the importance of psychological approaches

What skills and experience will you need to apply?

  • Demonstratable experience and interest in chronic pain
  • NMC or HCPC professional registration
  • Background in physiotherapy, nursing or occupational therapy
  • Prior experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioural therapy techniques
