Quantitative ESG / Climate Equity Analyst
A unique and interesting position has arisen within the ESG space for a Quantitative Climate Equity Analyst. This role will be highly appealing to those with an interest in climate change, sustainability and responsible investment.
Our client is a collaboration between an international Exchange and academic research organisation who offer, in the best economic conditions possible, the solutions that are most proven scientifically - with full transparency of both the methods and theassociated risks - for understanding of investment on the climate and sustainability.
The role:
Quantitative ESG/Climate Equity Analyst based in London - Full-time.
Responsibilities:
You will be involved in the following missions:
- Improvement of the design of the ESG/Climate index offering and in particular of the Climate Impact Consistent indices.
- Redaction of white papers, presentations, internal documents associated to the ESG/Climate offering such as factsheets, strategy rules and marketing documents.
- Monitoring of competitors' ESG/Climate offering.
- Acting as a link between the Index Department and the rest of the company such as Client Services or Investment Specialists on the ESG/Climate offering.
- Development of existing and new ESG/Climate analytics as well as their documentation.
- R&D on new ESG/Climate offering.
Key requirements
- Master or PhD degree in finance, statistics or physics in a leading academic institution.
- Knowledge in climate science such as carbon emissions modelling or estimation of climate transition or climate physical risks.
- Advanced programming skills in Matlab is mandatory.
- Experience within a data provider, index provider or asset management firm.
Required qualifications, skills and experience
- Master or PhD degree from a leading institution and an experience obtained within an index provider, asset manager or data provider in the Climate/ESG field
- You will have advanced knowledge in the estimation of climate transition and/or climate physical risks as well as carbon emissions modelling.
- Additional knowledge in portfolio construction would be an asset.
- Independent, openminded and resourceful, you will have advanced knowledge of statistical or econometrical methods as well as advanced programming aptitude in Matlab.
- This role will require the skills to write and deliver top quality documents, such as presentations or white papers under short notice.
- Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
