The Client:

Our client is a multi-disciplinary organisation, providing a comprehensive suite of services, including ecological solutions and landscape architecture.


The Role:


As a
Senior Ecologist, you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering ecology projects, coordinating field surveys and deliverables for client projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Undertake field surveys, including UK Habitat Classification and protected species surveys.
  • Produce highquality written documents, including survey reports, PEAs, EcIAs, HRAs, and Habitat Management Plans.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and advise clients on Biodiversity Net Gain opportunities / requirements.
  • Act as the daytoday client contact and coordinate subconsultants as required.
  • Write quotes / tender proposals for projects across sectors.
  • Mentor junior staff members within the ecology team and across the company.

Requirements:


  • Previously worked as a Senior Ecologist or in a similar role.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in consultancy handling larger, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Possess relevant degree(s) and CIEEM membership.
  • Experience in conducting biodiversity net gain assessments using the Defra Metric 4.0.
  • Skilled in producing PEAs, Ecological Impact Assessment reports, and Ecology Chapters of Environmental Statements.
  • Possess NE / NRW survey license. (Beneficial)
  • Reliable skills in identifying and surveying botanical elements (FISC Level 4).
  • Thorough understanding of UK planning system and relevant legislation.
