About the Role:

An opportunity has become available for a reception team leader working across Thorpe-le-Soken Surgery and Kirby Cross Surgery. The position is a full-time role (37.5 hours) over Monday - Friday. We have a friendly reception team based over two sites. The reception team leader will be responsible for managing and supporting the reception team across the two locations.

The applicant must be able to help patients access the right services and ensure that appointment bookings are well-managed.

You will work closely with the practice manager and business manager to improve and grow the service here at the practice.

Key duties include:

Working as an active member of the reception team to appreciate reception issues
Ensuring the professional and efficient operating of reception
Supporting, motivating and developing the reception team
Assisting colleagues in the management of demanding patients
Preparing rotas and managing leave and shortterm absence
Settingup and reviewing administration processes, to ensure optimum working
Representing reception in discussions & implementing decisions that affect them
Conducting appraisals and performance reviews
Monitoring of health & safety
Flexibility is a priority to cover additional hours during holiday/sickness absence of colleagues to keep the surgery running efficiently.

You must be a first-class communicator who is confident engaging with others.

You should demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile to provide high quality patient care, balancing compassion towards others with sensitivity in managing potential conflict.

Ideally, we would like someone with experience of working in General Practice or a wider NHS reception role, although this is not essential.

You will need your own transport to be able to travel between our two sites.
