An incredible opportunity for a VAT Assistant Manager to join an incredible company in Watford. As an Assistant Manager in VAT you will help in proactively developing the VAT practice within the team. You will also provide a specialist and comprehensiveVAT advisory service.

Key Responsibilities as a VAT Assistant Manager:

  • Working with the team to expand the business and growth of the VAT client base
  • Help to reduce client's VAT liabilities and compliance issues and identify tax planning opportunities
  • Explain VAT laws and knowledge into individual actions and procedures with clients under the guidance of the senior Indirect Tax Team
  • Check and complete VAT Returns and other VAT/indirect reporting obligations from a wide ranged portfolio of clients
  • Communicate with and meet clients, building a clear understanding of the business and client expectations
  • Distinguishing VAT tax planning opportunities, advising clients and fulfilling chosen options under the guidance of the senior Indirect Tax Team.
  • Finding risks and issues and suggest solutions under the guidance of the senior Indirect Tax Team
  • Script /present high quality VAT reports, involving minimum input from the senior Indirect Tax Team
  • Assist with the training and development of the junior team members

Key Requirements:


  • CTA qualified (or ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of UK and EU VAT issues and some knowledge of ROW issues
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a professional services role
  • Strong technical ability
  • Team player with excellent
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Employment Details

  • Full time role
  • Monday to Friday (flexible time policy combination of office/home working).
  • Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
  • Right to Work in the UK required.
