£13.43 ph (£ % holiday pay entitlement)


The Business Support Assistant role forms a crucial part of Rothercare & Assistive Technology team, which falls under RMBCs Adult Care Services.

This team offers a Technology Enabled Care service that primarily consists of a Pendant alarm system, which allows vulnerable individuals to seek help if they have fallen at home, for instance.


As the postholder, you will be responsible for performing a wide array of business support tasks, with the main focus being on processing referrals, completing installation schedules, and managing associated workstreams.


Your duties will also include serving as a point of contact for both internal and external inquiries, and responding to these queries in a supportive, sensitive, and timely manner.


Key Responsibilities/Areas of Work

  • Manage basic customer inquiries, such as those received at reception or over the phone.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail, process correspondence, and send outgoing mail.
  • Gather information and report back to others.
  • Create and utilise standard letters, templates, databases, spreadsheets, and documentation.
  • Provide assistance and support to staff in using IT packages and systems.
  • Generate management information.
  • Conduct filing, maintain staff records, prepare documents for scanning, photocopying, faxing, arrange meetings and appointments, handle post, and take notes.
  • Offer full support in arranging events, including producing materials, booking venues, and catering, and sending out invitations.
  • Ensure adherence to administrative procedures related to Council Policies, Standing Orders, and Financial Regulations by providing advice and administrative support.
  • Manage and reconcile cash in accordance with established procedures.
