Description

As a Claims Adjuster, you will be dedicated to reviewing client claims and dealing with any questions and queries that arise.

The role will involve processing claims by researching the policy, documentation and coverage terms.

You will be highly organised and comfortable building relationships and working with all levels of the firm. Stakeholder management and communication will be vital to the success of the role.

Key Responsibilities;

  • Analyse insurance claims across the UK, Europe and International markets
  • Maintains good relationships and communication with underwriters, brokers, experts and risk analysts
  • Resolve claims in a timely manner and ensuring a fair settlement and good customer service for the client
  • Determines covered insurance losses by studying provisions of a policy or certificate
  • Establishes proof of loss by studying documentation and assembling additional information from outside sources
  • Documents specific claims by completing and recording forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information
  • Ensures legal compliance by following company policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as state and federal insurance regulations
  • Maintains quality customer service by following customer services practices and responding to customer inquiries
  • Provides legal support by assembling documentation for settlement action
  • Protects operations by keeping claims information confidential
  • Stay uptodate on local, state and federal law changes in the insurance field.
  • Attend client meetings as required
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager

Key Competencies;

  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to forge and maintain relationships with clients
  • Solutions focused attitude to resolve any challenges
  • Excellent organizational skills ability to provide the client with clear and accurate agendas, status reports and updates on request
  • Answer any queries regarding customer policies in a compliant and timely manner
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation.
  • Proven attention to detail/extreme precision about the content of requirements of documents, weekly reports and status updates.
  • The ability to work within an unstructured environment and without clear guidance.

Skills and Qualifications;
Essential;

  • Minimum of 23 years of experience within a similar claims or insurance position
  • Background in Cargo and freight forwarder liability claims management.
  • Experience in handling claims in the UK, Europe and International market
  • Understanding of insurance claims negotiation and settlement techniques
  • Proven administrative experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Comfortable dealing with internal and external senior representatives
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Selfstarter and takes initiative
  • Effective listening, strong verbal and written communications skills (including grammar)
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and problemsolving skills
  • Thrive in a fastpaced, highgrowth, rapidly changing technical environment
Desirable;

  • Background in Claims management or adjusting
  • Excellent knowledge of the latest insurance related policies
  • Enthusiastic about emerging technology and insurtech
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Documents
