Description

West London College are looking to recruit skilled BSL (British Sign Language) or CSW signers to support students on a variety of courses at the college across different campuses.


Person and Qualifications

  • Level 3 Certificate in British Sign Language / equivalent e.g., sign as first language
  • 2 year's general work experience of working with deaf students in schools, adult education, prisons or voluntary/charitable organisations.
  • Awareness of learning difficulties associated with a hearing impairment and the social and emotional difficulties that can occur.
  • Good standard of education 5 GCSE's grade C or above or equivalent qualification (e.g., approved qualification as a CSW with Deaf people) or extensive experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working with young people (in a SEN environment is desirable but not essential)
  • Experience with Makaton

£20.00-£30.00 per hour

  • London, W14 9BL: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Special education: 1 year (required)

  • BSL level 2+ (required)
