Job Description & Person Specification >

We have an exciting opportunity for a Relational Practice Training Officer to work within the Learning Academy team within Children's Services to support our Relational Practice Lead to continue to drive forward with our innovative Restorative Practice Journey.

We are committed to a restorative and relational model of working 'WITH' our children, young people, and families, so they remain at the heart of our practice.

Restorative and relational based practice describes a way of being, an underpinning ethos, which enables us to build and maintain healthy relationships, resolve difficulties, and repair harm when relationships breakdown.

In our recent inspection OFSTED praised our progress and commitment to the use of restorative practice in making a positive impact on the lives of children and families "A restorative practice model focuses on working with families.

An ethos of 'doing with' rather than 'doing to' is progressively becoming embedded across services, leading to more sophisticated and effective direct work with children and their families".

To be successful in this role we are seeking a confident and experienced trainer who can deliver our inhouse restorative training programme opportunities and events to support the ongoing development of our workforce and partner agencies to meet best practice standards.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills to be able to confidently identify opportunities to teach and model the skills of restorative practice to make a difference to the lives of our children and families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
