Leeds, Halifax, Edinburgh, Manchester, London & Bristol - **We're happy with home working the majority of the time, however you'll need to be in office 1 or 2 days per week.


Salary & Benefits:

The base salary banding for this role is £41,715 - £46,350 outside of London and £48,663 to £54,070 in London plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (based on 6% employee contribution), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Our Cloud Services department is looking for a motivated individual to ensure that our products are reliable, focusing on keeping bank services running while simultaneously supporting programme timescales and business outcomes.


You'll be responsible for improving our engineering capability to support our operational requirements, utilising Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD technologies.


Service is at the heart of everything we do at LBG, and being part of our Site Reliability Engineering team means you can contribute to building the culture around performing Operations using Engineering principles.

Specific activities which you'll be responsible for include things like;

  • Working to keep our products evergreen and reliable as cloud technologies continue to move at a fastpace
  • Supporting our customers during office hours and also as part of our 24x7 outofhours callout rota, investigating & fixing service issues using engineering principles resolving via code changes and implementing improvements to prevent repeat issues
  • Delivering improvements to our products by reducing manual effort and toil, automating processes and controls to drive better products and give our customers a better experience
  • Helping to improve our capabilities in areas such as observability, automation and collaboration

What do we need to see from applicants?

  • Some practical experience of public cloud technology in either GCP, Azure or AWS
  • Able to review, update and write code in a language/script, such as Python, Groovy, BASH, HCL
  • Understand the software development lifecycle and some knowledge of automation tooling
  • Automating away manual work
  • Some knowledge of understanding of Cloud security and networking

Desirable Skills to have (experience of these would be a bonus)

  • Have a proactive approach to ensure that operational consideration is at the heart of everything we do
  • Ability to resolve incidents and problems, providing logical approach to tackling problems, using data to drive the right decisions
  • Can communicate with stakeholders in a way that ensures understanding by the recipient
  • Be curious and have a passion to continue to learn and develop new skills and capabilities
  • Collaborative approach to working with other colleagues to help deliver the best solutions
