We are seeking a reliable, proactive and efficient Attendance Officer to join the team at Hethersett Academy.

The role includes running our daily attendance monitoring processes, advising on development of the whole school approach to attendance, and casework with students and families in need of support.

The role is fast-paced and demanding but also incredibly rewarding as you will be having a direct impact on the outcomes achieved by our students.

Though a key part of this role is ensuring we comply with regulatory requirements and follow our rigorous processes, you also have ample opportunity to work directly with students and impact their success at school.

Experience of working in a similar role would be beneficial.

You will be required to provide administrative and clerical support services to a high standard, supporting management, teachers, and students in an efficient, professional, and effective manner.

This will involve organising and attending meetings with parents, Early Intervention Plans and Fast Track Panel meetings as required and liaising with the Norfolk County Council attendance team on a regular basis.

Hethersett Academy is one of East Anglia's best performing schools, judged as Outstanding by OFSTED in all areas. Ofsted have highlighted how much our pupils value their education with Hethersett Academy.
- "Pupils flourish at this school. They attend regularly, arrive on time and present themselves impeccably. Pupils respect each other and their surroundings. Bullying is rare. Pupils know that if bullying does happen, staff deal with it effectively and promptly. Pupils have very high expectations of their own and others' behaviour. They value every minute of learning time."_

We are a growing village school with a strong history in the local community, with our convenient location just off the A11 also making us a popular choice for families in Wymondham and south Norwich.

We are part of the Inspiration Trust, twice ranked as the country's top family of comprehensive schools for pupil progress, and strongly believe in the importance of giving the widest educational opportunities to all young people, regardless of their background.

We have strong networks across the Trust, with opportunities to work with a diverse range of schools and partners.

We are committed to offering excellent professional and learning opportunities for our staff, with a busy programme of continuing professional development courses delivered by some of the country's best educational thinkers and practitioners.

Interview date:
Week commencing Tuesday 29th August 2023

  • This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are an equal opportunities employer._
