    Job Overview

    The C3 team is a friendly department that prides itself on working together as part of a team. Our unit consists of 21 inpatient beds and a Surgical Assessment Unit, taking direct admissions from ED, GPs, and running ambulatory clinics to avoid hospital admissions.

    This requires a high level of organisation, making it a busy place to be.

    The role of the Ward Clerk is to assist the clinical team, enabling the smooth functioning of the unit through effective communication, general administration, and interactions with patients, visitors, and the multi-disciplinary team.

    All activities will be under the direction of the Ward Sisters, Clinical Matron, and nurse in charge on shift.

    Main Duties of the Job

    The successful candidate will provide administrative support for the ward, including being a friendly face, greeting and directing visitors, managing phone calls, tracking patient journeys, requesting and tracking notes, filing, and ensuring electronic systems are up-to-date.

    They will have good working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team, including Consultants, Secretaries, other admin teams, and ward nursing staff.

    This role is integral to the functioning of the department and makes an invaluable contribution to our team.
