JOB- Product Design Engineer

LOCATION- Devon

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- All Levels (D.O.E) My client manufactures a range of products for a range of different industries. They are looking to expand their design team by taking on a Product Design Engineer to work in their office in Devon. If you're passionate about New Product Development and havea strong Product / Mechanical background with interest in electronic consumer goods, then this may be an ideal fit for you.

The Product Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

Knowledge/ Experience of designing concepts through to manufacture

years' experience within design

Knowledge / Experience of consumer goods
Engineering qualification (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC, BSc etc.) in Product Design or Mechanical Engineering or similar
Excellent 3D CAD skills Inventor / SolidWorks or similar
NPD experience
Plastic injection moulding, fabrication assemblies experience required
Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

The Product Design Engineer role will involve:

Working within the current engineering team including junior designers
Transform ideas into new or improved products, services or processes, in order to advance, compete and differentiate
Producing engineering documents in line with contracts and projects
Producing 3D designs using CAD software
Generating the BOM's to go with the associated designs
Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
Coming up with new ideas to help improve business
