Make a more meaningful impact to patients' lives around the globe
Here you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to patients' lives.

With science at its heart, this is the place where breakthroughs born in the lab become transformative medicines - for the world's most complex diseases.

Answer unmet medical needs by pioneering the next wave of science, focusing on outcomes and shaping the patient ecosystem.

If your passion is science and you want to be part of a team that makes a bigger impact on patients' lives, then there's no better place to be.

Pharmaceutical Sciences is a function within the AstraZeneca's Biopharmaceuticals R&D unit and that creates innovative, cost effect solutions by transforming molecules into investigative medicines meeting unmet needs of future patients.

The function has five departments:
Early Chemical Development, Advanced Drug Delivery, Early Product Development & Manufacturing, Digitisation and Data Science & Modelling. Our wide-ranging portfolio of projects includes small molecules, nucleotide-based therapies and nanomedicines across AstraZeneca's therapy areas.

Working across diverse skills set and departments a small number of exciting opportunities have arisen for Digital Champions to own and drive the future of our product, analytical and drug delivery data, processes and systems.

We are now looking for an experienced
scientist interested in leading digital transformation to join us within Early Product Development & Manufacturing.

The role can be based at our R&D site in
Gothenburg, Sweden or at our site in
Macclesfield, UK.

The role:

This position is within Early Product Development & Manufacturing, a department developing drug products for early clinical studies for the small molecule portfolio and manufacturing drug products across all synthetic modalities.

You will work in close collaboration across the technical departments in Pharmaceutical Sciences and with the Digitisation department in particular.

The Digitisation department is focused on digitally transforming ways of workings:

delivering solutions that improve productivity and ensuring that experimental data flows seamlessly and is available for data science & modelling.

You will have a key role in the interface between the lab-based scientists and the digitisation experts and have the responsibility for the creation of a vision & roadmap focused on how data is captured, structured, stored and reused across Pharmaceutical Sciences and partners.

You will bring a strong understanding of pharmaceutical development as well as a passion for and/or experience of driving digital change.

Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to personal development and as such ensures that every individual has opportunities to grow within the business towards more senior roles.
